The Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) is the official governing body for the sport of tenpin bowling in Malaysia, recognized by the Olympic Council of Malaysia, the Ministry of Sports, and the National Sports Council. On the global stage, MTBC is acknowledged by both the International Bowling Federation (IBF) and the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF), solidifying its position as a key player in the development of the sport.
Founded in 1974, MTBC is dedicated to promoting, regulating, and advancing tenpin bowling in Malaysia, with a particular focus on achieving excellence. Under the leadership of the late Dato’ Dr. PS Nathan, an accomplished former bowler, the Congress has grown to encompass 15 State and Federal Territory affiliates across the country. The current President Dato' Mohammed Najeeb Abdullah is resolute to carry his predecessor goals for the betterment of tenpin bowling sports in Malaysia.
MTBC is known for its robust commitment to the sport, organizing a variety of prestigious events, including the Malaysian International Open, the National Championships, and the Interstate Championships. Additionally, it sanctions numerous other competitions, providing ample opportunities for both recreational and professional bowlers.
In its pursuit of excellence, MTBC places a strong emphasis on coaching development and youth programs, nurturing the next generation of champions. Over the years, the Congress has produced multiple world champions, showcasing its world-class training systems and commitment to cultivating talent at every level.
