Nora Lyana Clinches Third Thailand Open Title, Qurratu’ain Izdihar Shines in Semi-Finals
Malaysian Strength in Depth

Malaysia’s bowling star Nora Lyana Nastasia Norkamal captured her third Thailand International Open Women’s title after defeating Singapore’s New Hui Fen in a commanding stepladder final at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin.
Nora, who previously won the event in 2015 and 2023, showcased her consistency and composure under pressure, winning back-to-back games with scores of 217–172 and 257–181, securing a total of 474 pins against Hui Fen’s 353. Her victory earned her the 130,000 baht (≈ RM16,130) prize money and reaffirmed her status as one of Malaysia’s most decorated female bowlers.
Nora expressed gratitude and optimism after her win: “I’m truly grateful to lift this title for the third time. It’s a timely confidence boost as I prepare for the PWBA Tour in the United States next month. The lane conditions were challenging, but I stayed focused and trusted my game.”
She also emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum ahead of the Asian Championships in Doha, Qatar, later this year.

The tournament also highlighted Malaysia’s depth in women’s bowling. Rising talent Qurratu’ain Ain Izdihar Pozi impressed by reaching the semi-final stage. She battled alongside compatriots Gillian Lim and Adelia Nur Irwan Syazalee, with Nora eventually edging past them with a score of 222, compared to Qurratu’ain’s 215 and Gillian’s 200.
Although Qurratu’ain fell short of the final, her performance underlined Malaysia’s growing pool of competitive bowlers on the international stage.
