Team Youth Malaysia celebrates their wins at Doha

    Team Youth Malaysia delivered a stunning performance at the 24th Asian Junior Tenpin Bowling Championship in Doha, claiming the overall title with a medal haul of 13 medals. Leading the charge was 17-year-old Qurratu’Ain Izdihar Mohd Pozi, who cemented her place as the standout athlete of the tournament with a sensational five-gold medal sweep. The young bowler golds came in the Girls’ Singles, Doubles (with Adelia Nur Irwan Syazalee), Team of 4, Girls All-Events, and the Girls’ Masters final, completing a perfect campaign.


The Girls’ Team A - featuring Qurratu’Ain Mohd Pozi, Adelia Nur, Intan Nor Azliman, and Natalie Chong cruised to the top of the podium on the Girls Team of 4 with a 4,775-pinfall total, comfortably ahead of Chinese Taipei. Malaysia’s Girls’ Team B with Helena Jamal, Nursyarafana Amri, Nurul Dayana Suhaidan, and Balqis Nurdini Khairuli added to the tally with a bronze in the same event.


On the boys’ side, Muhammad Aqil Faizal spearheaded the team victory by claiming bronze in the Boys Singles. The Boy’s Doubles Affan Sabrin and Eldred Kho achieve a bronze medal for the national squad, while the Team of 4 event did not disappoint with a perfect game from Sayed Abdullah, Aqil Faizal, Hafiz Azhlan, and Muhammad Zarif Mazlan, securing the top spot and the gold medal. Muhammad Aqil Faizal, once again showing his class, rebounded in the Boy’s Masters, snatching victory against Kuwait's top seed, Naseer Al Kandari, and securing Malaysia’s seventh gold.


In conclusion, Malaysia topped the medal standings ahead of strong contingents from Kuwait, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and host nation Qatar. Team Malaysia returns home with heads held high and history made, warmly welcomed by the President of Malaysia Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) Dato' Mohammed Najeeb Abdullah and it’s EXCO, as champions of Asia, and champions of the future.

 

Malaysia's overall medal tally: 
7 Gold, 1 Silver, and 5 Bronze.
